Calling All Young Makers!
The After School Makers’ Club is a six-week creative program where kids can make, explore and try something new at the Painted Door Creative Hub.
Geared toward makers ages 8–12, but we’re not big on hard-and-fast age rules around here. If your maker is a little younger or older and the Makers' Club sounds like their kind of place, they’re welcome!
Each session features a carefully curated mix of hands-on projects, materials and craft kits, including some from our favourite Canadian makers. Makers might paint, sculpt, build, design and more, with plenty of instruction, encouragement and room to put their own spin on things.
And because creativity after school can work up an appetite, a light, individually packaged snack and water are included each week.
Their Own Maker Space
Every maker creates differently! Kids can work at their own pace, independently or with help from our Hub Hosts, with extra creative activities available for those ready for more.
Each maker will have their own project bin at the Hub for works-in-progress and materials. At the end of the six weeks, everything goes home with them!

Both sessions feature the same projects and activities, so simply choose the day that works best for your maker.

Maximum 12 makers per session
All projects, supplies, a light snack and water are included. No previous crafting experience needed.
Painted Door Creative Hub is located at the back of the same building as Painted Door on Main. Park in the rear parking lot, or park on the street out front and walk around the north side of the building to the Creative Hub entrance.

We'd love for more young makers to have the chance to join us! Community Maker Spots are available for young makers whose families may find the cost of registration a barrier.

Before Their First Class
After registration, parents/guardians will receive a short Makers’ Club Participant Form for emergency contacts, allergies, and arrival and pickup information. Please complete it before your maker’s first class.
Finding the Creative Hub
The Painted Door Creative Hub is located in the same building as Painted Door on Main, with its own entrance at the back. A limited number of parking spaces are available behind the building and can be accessed through the alley. Additional parking is available on the street. From Main Street, simply walk around the north side of the building to reach the Creative Hub entrance.
Can Parents Stay?
Makers’ Club is designed as a drop-off program, but we know some kids might need a little time to settle in. Parents are welcome to pull up a chair and join in for a bit, wander Painted Door on Main (we know, dangerous!), or hang out in the Hub kitchen with a tea or coffee while their maker gets comfortable. You’re never far away, but they still get to do their thing!

The Painted Door Creative Hub is an inclusive space where makers are encouraged to show up as themselves. We celebrate creativity, individuality and kindness, and want kids and families of all identities and family structures to feel welcome, respected and included.
Advance registration is required. Spaces are limited to 12 makers per session.
